Coffeyville, Kansas IndustryAmazon.com Coffeyville, Kansas: Walter P. Johnson Campground We are staying in Walter P. Johnson City Park Campground in Coffeyville, Kansas. I would suggest this campground to anyone passing through the area. You can easily find this City Park if you are traveling through Coffeyville on US 166 or US 169 you will pass right by the Park. There is a big Steam Locomotive on the east side of town around the intersection of 4th or 5th streets. That is the entrance to the Park. Or you can turn east on 8th street and find the Campground. They advertise $8 a night for water & elect ---- FHU is $12. There is a free dump along Park Avenue near the arena and across from the playground. Joyce took this picture of the lake that has flooded some of the campsites at Elk City State Park located a few miles west of Independence, Kansas. Many of the Workampers at Amazon.com are staying in this state park. The campsites here are nice, very nice, we opted to stay in Coffeyville since this is a 18-mile drive to work where as the campground in Coffeyville is a 5-mile drive to work. That made a difference since we were traveling home from work at 3:30am.

Amazon.com building in Coffeyville, Kansas
This picture shows a "part" of the Amazon.com building we work in. To say it is a BIG building would be an understatement. Inside they have 33-miles of conveyor belts. There is a mile-long walking lane around and through the building that is used by "pickers" who are retrieving items from inventory that have been ordered. Those folks walk 15-miles or more per-shift. If you want to get paid to loose weight this is the job for you.
