Coffeyville,
Kansas
We moved the motorhome from Pensacola, Florida to Coffeyville, Kansas where we plan to spend a few months working for Amazon.Com in their "fulfillment-center". This is the place where Amazon.com warehouses, packages & ships their products. During the Christmas season Amazon.com hires around 500 "temporary" workers to help with the increase in business. We are joining the workampers that are are sending out your Christmas presents While in Coffeyville, Kansas waiting for our work to start we took time to look around and visit some of the attractions in the area. The Dalton Gang robbed their last bank in Coffeyville and most are buried in the local cemetery. The Little House on the Prairie historic site is located just west of Coffeyville and the Brown Mansion is a main attraction in Coffeyville.
Our motorhome in the Coffeyville, Kansas City Park
This is our motorhome all "winterized" to protect us from the bitter cold wind we are told to expect in November and December. I spread this clear plastic around the motorhome to keep out the cold wind. It worked but I can tell you if it gets too cold for these FLORIDA folks we will be out of here in a heart beat. You can bet our motorhome knows the way to Key West and we intend to be there in January and February. We just may get there earlier than the current plan. VBG

This is another picture of some of the campsites at Walter P. Johnson City Park Campground in Coffeyville, Kansas where workampers are "camped" while working at Amazon.Com.
Joyce under a Coffeyville, Kansas flood marker
The sign on this power pole is marking how high the the flood waters of 2007 came. This power pole is located about 200' from our RV. Needless to say it would not have been good to have an RV here in 2007. It was a serious flood. Red Oak in City Park Coffeyville, Kansas
When we walk in the City Park we pass this beautiful Red Oak tree. As you can see it is changing colors.

South Coffeyville, Kansas livestock auction
After arriving in Coffeyville we headed out to find things to see and do since we are not scheduled to start work until next week. There was a livestock auction in South Coffeyville so we stopped by on Friday to watch the action. We were amused to watch this cute blond teen age girl unloading cattle that were being delivered to the auction. Out here girls hold their own. Folks this girl is WORKING for a living. This isn't a job for wooses. It is definitely interesting to see first hand how the rest of the country lives.
