Kansas Pontoon Boat

June 28, 2009

We are camped in Wilson RV Park in Wilson, Kansas. It is a FHU place for $18 but nothing better than OK. If you are looking for amenities this isn't the place for you.

Sometimes we run across something that is just too good to pass up

Happy Hooker Party Boat in Wilson, Kansas

We spotted this pontoon boat in Wilson, Kansas. It was about 40' long and had a nice enclosure on it. I drove by it to see how they had it rigged out. Then we spotted the underwear. We had to take this picture after we stopped laughing.

Then we spotted the name of this "party boat".

The Happy Hooker.

Then we started laughing again. This is a real red neck rig.

This truly is a party boat. It has a huge grill on back along with two large deck boxes and an old rusty refrigerator.

From the decorations on this boat some serious partying has taken place on the deck.

But this is not why we are in Wilson.

Our objective is the Post Rock Scenic Drive. So we quickly forgot that party barge and headed off on the Post Rock Scenic Drive.

Wilson Reservoir: Wilson, Kansas

We are on a bluff overlooking Wilson Reservoir a few miles north of Wilson, Kansas.

I suspect this is the body of water that the "Happy Hooker" spent time on since it was only a few miles north of Wilson.

This is Wilson Reservoir and dam located a few miles north of Wilson, Kansas. This is a salt water lake. The dam impounds water from the Salt River. A local told us the river ran through a salt deposit thus the reason this lake is salt. This same local said fresh water fish lived in the lake so it must not be too salty.
