These buffalo are grazing along Gros Ventre Road near Gros Ventre Campground.

It is a unique experience to have buffalo wandering through your campsite, but that can easily happen when staying in Gros Ventre Campground in Grand Teton National Park.

Buffalo sometimes delight in standing in the road, just because they can. It is interesting to note that this buffalo still has much of his winter coat and it is mid-July. It seems to me that it is time for them to have shed their winter coat but what do I know.

This buffalo is stopping traffic on Gros Ventre Road near Gros Ventre Campground.

That is Grand Teton Mountain and the Teton Range behind the Episcopal Chapel of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park. The Chapel is located in Moose Junction near Menor's Ferry.

The Chapel was constructed in 1925 and still conducts services.

It was constructed so that the early settlers would not have to make the long buckboard ride into Jackson for Sunday services.

The Chapel also served guests and employees of the dude ranches that stretched north of Jackson along the base of the Teton Range.

Today it is a popular place to get married.

Couples come here to exchange vows with the Tetons as a backdrop. Arrangements for the use of The Chapel of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park must be made directly with the church:

Pilgrim Creek Road is located between Jackson Lake Lodge and Colter Bay Village. If you are staying in either one make sure you take a drive to the end of Pilgrim Creek Road.

This moose was visible along the Gros Ventre River not far from the Gros Ventre Campground during the month of July. Each day a crowd of visitors would stop to watch this beautiful animal.
