Gros Ventre Campground in Grand Teton National Park is located about 11- miles from downtown Jackson, Wyoming. It is also located about 11-miles east of Moose Junction in Grand Teton National Park where the new Visitor Center for Grand Teton National Park is located. Gros Ventre Campground sports 350 sites, 5 groups sites, and a trailer dump station. Gros Ventre is rarely full, although they do close to full many nights. If they did by chance get full there is a big amphitheater that is used for overflow. Gros Ventre Campground is located about 4-miles up Gros Ventre Road from the main north south highway running through Grand Teton National Park. Gros Ventre Campground is situated along the Gros Ventre River with a mix of sites in sagebrush and mature cottonwoods. We have seen buffalo and moose wandering through the campground.

This is a typical view of campsites in the "generator" section of Gros Ventre Campground. There is another section, mostly for tenters, that does not allow generators. Where generators are allowed you can run them from 8am to 8pm. If you did not already know Gros Ventre Campground is dry camping, meaning NO utilities. They do have a central dump station and water access but those are located near the office.
