The view from the large picture window in the upper lobby of Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park is one of the most awe inspiring in North America.

This view of the Teton Range from that picture window in Jackson Lake Lodge features Grand Teton Peak to the left of center with Mt Moran to the right of center. Jackson Lake is at the base of the Teton Range and Willow Flats is directly out the window.

From this spot visitors can actually spot elk, moose bear and wolves. They spot these animals daily not just every once and a while.

In 1989, U.S. Secretary of State James Baker and Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze signed a statement of peace and friendship on the terrace, using a pine table made in the lodge’s carpentry shop. The table is known as the “Peace Table” and is on display at Jackson Lake Lodge on the second floor landing off the upper lobby area.

This trumpeter swan is on display in the upper lobby of Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park. If you know where to look nesting pairs of trumpeter swans can be seen not only in Grand Teton National Park but in surrounding lakes and rivers.

This year we watched two pair from Buffalo Valley Road deep in the Buffalo Valley a bit east of Moran Junction.

Sometimes you can watch bear, moose, elk, coyote and wolves from the picture window in Jackson Lake Lodge.

We tend to think stopping at Jackson Lake Lodge and walking around in the upper lobby is one of the "must-see" ---"must-do" things each time we are in Grand Teton National Park.
