Snake River
This group of white pelicans were resting on a gravel bar in the
Snake River a few
miles west of Flagg
Ranch in John
D. Rockerfeller Jr. Memorial Parkway. Joyce took this picture
from one of the FREE campgrounds along Grassy
Lake Road. While these campgrounds are free they are dry camping
with only a single pit toilet at each one. Grassy
Lake Road is a bit bumpy (gravel) for many RV'ers but some
of the camping areas closest to Flagg
Ranch can probably be accessed by most RV's as long as they
drive slow. One thing is for sure the scenery is about as good as
it gets.
If you are thinking about spending time in this area you may want
to peruse some of our travel logs from that area:

The Snake River
emerges from Jackson
Lake at Jackson
Lake Dam in Grand
Teton National Park.
Joyce took this picture of the Snake
River from Menor's
Ferry across from Dornans
in Grand
Teton National Park.
This is where the Snake
River flows out of Jackson
Lake in Grand
Teton National Park. The Snake
River flows into Jackson
Lake at the north end of Grand
Teton National Park in John
D. Rockerfeller Jr. Memorial Parkway. The Snake
River becomes Jackson
Lake for approximately 25-miles then at Jackson
Lake Dam it is released to become the Snake
River again.
Buckwheat blooming along the Snake
River as seen from a campsite on Grassy
Lake Road a few miles west of Flagg
Ranch in John
D. Rockerfeller Jr. Memorial Parkway. There were several FREE
picturesque camp grounds (dry camping) like this one along Grassy
Lake Road west of Flagg
Ranch.
