Grassy Lake Dam located west of Flagg Ranch and between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park was constructed as part of an irrigation project for Idaho.

The reservoir does not produce electricity. Its function is water storage.

We drove down to the parking log you see in this picture and found a lot of obsidian in the gravel used to pave the parking lot.

This is a view of the Snake River as it flows through John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.

The highway connecting Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park is located between us and that bluff. We are looking east and Grand Teton National Park is to the right in this picture while Yellowstone would be to the left.

We stopped in one of the free campsites located a few miles west of Flagg Ranch on Grassy Lake Road in John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway to take this picture of the Snake River.

In this location we are between Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.

The campsites at this location along Grassy Lake Road are not along the Snake River. Most of the free campsites along the eastern end Grassy Lake Road are on the Snake River.
