Jackson Lake Dam
Grand
Teton Mountain in the Teton
Range peaking above Jackson
Lake Dam in the evening light with the Snake
River emerging from outlets on the dam.
Actually, the Snake
River flows into Jackson
Lake in the extreme northern end of Grand
Teton National Park in an area know as John
D. Rockerfeller Jr. Memorial Parkway located between Grand
Teton National Park and Yellowstone
National Park. After flowing into Jackson
Lake the Snake
River magically reappears here at Jackson
Lake Dam in Grand
Teton National Park.
Jackson Lake Dam
in Grand
Teton National Park was created as an irrigation reservoir
holding water for farms in southeastern Idaho.
Jackson Lake Dam
releasing water that constitutes the Snake
River as it flows through Grand
Teton National Park.
Snake
River emerging from the out flow of Jackson
Lake Dam in Grand
Teton National Park.
The Snake
River is created here in the tailwater of Jackson
Lake Dam in Grand
Teton National Park. Actually, the Snake
River has headwaters in Yellowstone
National Park then flows out the south end of Yellowstone
National Park into an area know as John
D. Rockerfeller Jr. Memorial Parkway where the Snake
River flows free until entering Jackson
Lake less than 10-miles later. For 25-miles the Snake
River becomes Jackson
Lake, so when water is released at Jackson
Lake Dam it is the reemergence of the Snake
River.
