The wildflowers along Grassy Lake Road were certainly putting on a show, especially the yellow mule ears.

The talus slope on this lava cliff on the far side of a lush meadow caught our attention. We passed this meadow on Grassy Lake Road several miles west of Flagg Ranch.

There is some serious pressure on the water being released from Grassy Lake. Grassy Lake Road west of Flagg Ranch between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks
This picture should give you an idea of what Grassy Lake Road looks like. It is gravel and not well maintained. Some sections especially in Wyoming do not appear to be maintained at all while the Idaho side looks pretty good. Snake River flowing past free campsite in John D. This is another picture taken from one of the free campsites along Grassy Lake Road. The mountains with snow in the distance are the northern extreme of the Teton Range. That is the Snake River just before entering Grand Teton National Park.
