John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway in WyomingSign on highway between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park
John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway is a 24,000 acre park located between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park that is managed by Grand Teton National Park. John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway is also a "road" that connects Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. The parkway road itself extends from the southern end of Grand Teton National Park, through Grand Teton National Park then into and through the parkway lands, and on to West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park, a distance of 82-miles. The John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway land was originally part of the Teton National Forest. The land was transferred to the National Park Service from the United States Forest Service to assure an unbroken National Park connection between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
