Grand Teton National Park MooseAug 7-17, 2007 While in the Tetons we stayed at two of the Grand Teton National Park Campgrounds: Colter Bay and Gros Ventre. Both are dry camping sites and are rarely full. Both are $17 per-night to "dry camp" with central water and dump site of course if you have the "geezer-pass" the rate will be half that. There are several hundred sites in each of the campgrounds. We spent most of our time in the Gros Ventre Campground because it is located only 10-miles north of Jackson and we love Jackson and all it has to offer. Passport America - Discount
Camping Club Grand Teton National Park Bull Moose
Can you believe the size of this bull eating aquatic plants.
This one was in the water at Ox Bow Bend not far from Jackson Lake Lodge.

If you are lucky a bull moose like this one will be visible.

Grand Teton National Park Bull Moose
I like this big boy!
This one was in the Gros Ventre River just down from the Gros Ventre Campground we are staying in. If you want to spend some time at this site that seems to always have some moose hanging around look for the road that goes east to Kelly along the Gros Ventre River. It is the Gros Ventre Road that leads past the Gros Ventre Campground, through Kelly then past the Gros Ventre Slide site, Slide Lake and up into the Gros Ventre Wilderness. The site along this road is only about 2-miles from the main road through Grand Teton National Park. Look for a pull-out area on the south side of the road. From the pull-out you need to get out of your automobile and walk a few feet so that you can see down to the Gros Ventre River. It is usually easy enough to spot a group of tourist that will lead you to the best spot for viewing.
Bull moose in Grand Teton Nationa Park
Just another bull moose, I should say another HUGE bull moose.
I think we saw this on the road connecting Wilson and Moose Junction.
