Historic Old Seaport at Key West - 5Commercial lobster boat along Harbor Walk in the Historic Old Seaport at Key West Bight Marina
Lobster and stone crab fishermen have to mark each of their traps with color coded buoys. This lobster boat is displaying their buoy marking code but also the numbers on their respective lobster and stone crab traps. This particular commercial lobster boat has been docked along Harbor Walk in Key West Bight Marina for as long as we have been wintering in Key West.
Great egret resting on the bow of a charter boat along Harbor Walk in Key West Bight Marina
Joyce captured this great egret resting on the bow of a charter boat in Key West Bight Marina as we were strolling along Harbor Walk one afternoon. When you visit Key West you really should make time to stroll along Harbor Walk at Key West Bight Marina and enjoy all the wildlife you will see, as well as people watch. I like to do both but the wildlife like this great egret, brown pelicans and tarpon are really cool. Joyce Hendrix with the old historic seaport of Key West in the background
I took this picture of Joyce posing with a palm tree along Trumbo Road on the northeast side of Key West Bight Marina and the historic old seaport at Key West in the background. We take daily walks from the Navy Campground at Trumbo Point using Trumbo Road as our avenue to reach Harbor Walk at Key West Bight Marina and eventually Duval Street and Sunset Pier. Large tarpon milling around charter boat in the historic old seaport at Key West Bight
These tarpon were milling around the same boat that great egret was sitting on in the earlier picture. These tarpon range from around 40-pounds to around 80-pounds. Like I said earlier you can view some awesome wildlife when strolling around Harbor Walk at Key West Bight Marina.
