This is Key West Bight Marina as seen from a vessel approaching the harbor.

Joyce took this picture one afternoon as we returned from Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas on the big, fast Catamaran Yankee Freedom II as we were about to enter Key West Bight Marina.

Not all the boats in Key West Bight Marina are yachts. Key West Bight Marina also rents spaces to a small dinghy fleet used to transport individuals to and from their "liveaboard" boats moored in various sheltered areas around Key West.

The Schooner Jolly II Rover is a classic 80’ Caribbean coastal sailing ship -- the same kind used by infamous pirates and rum runners.

The Jolly II Rover is the only square rigged, topsail Schooner sailing out of Key West and it is docked along Harbor Walk in Key West Bight Marina near Conch Republic Restaurant.

Conch Republic Restaurant is the blue roof building you see directly behind the Jolly II Rover.

The Jolly II Rover offers daily Sunset Sails that depart the wharf behind Conch Republic Restaurant along Harbor Walk in Key West Bight Marina. Sunset cruises are one of the most popular things to do in Key West.

And, at only $39 per person, Jolly II Rover sunset sails are among the most affordable Key West activity.

Bring your own food and drinks, and let the crew transport you to a time when sailors were one with the ocean. You can join the crew and hoist the sails, or just sit back, relax and take in the experience. Revel in the moment as our magnificent red sails capture the wind and the Rover sails off to a place time forgot

Joyce took this picture of a classic old yacht that someone has really fixed up.

It only stayed around Key West Bight Marina for a few days. Then the owners were off to another adventure.
