Joyce took this picture of one of the feral chickens, in this case a rooster, as we passed the U.S. Post Office on Whitehead Street. It is not uncommon to see 15 to 20 of these roosters and feral chickens roaming around the post office grounds when we are walking up and down Whitehead Street.

Strangler Fig Tree or ficus tree on Whitehead Street at the Mel Fisher Museum
When you visit the Mel Fisher Museum in Key West wander around to the west side of the building to Whitehead Street and you will see this huge ficus tree. I wanted to see what this strangler fig had started life on but the root mass was so dense I could not determine what used to be in the center.
