La Veta, Colorado part-3We spotted this large group of turkey while enjoying the Scenic Hwy of Legends outside of La Veta
We are blown away by the wildlife we are seeing. There were a lot more turkey in this group than we were able to capture in this picture. They were just too spread out to capture all of them in one picture.
La Veta, Colorado is located along the Scenic Hwy of Legends on the west side of Spanish Peaks
From La Veta the Highway of Legends will take up in altitude to 9,995-feet at Cuchara Pass around 18-miles south of La Veta. From Cuchara Pass at 9,995-feet you can take a short 6-mile side trip to Cordova Pass that is at 11,248-feet. Expect to climb when you head out of La Veta on the way to Cuchara and Cuchara Pass on the Highway of Legends.
Deer in residential yards are common throughout La Veta
Doe were predominant in La Veta while bucks were common on the outskirts of town
We were amazed at the large bucks we saw on the outskirts of La Veta
Yet another picture of deer/bucks on the outskirts of La Veta
What more can we say, this picture says it all. On the outskirts of La Veta on the Scenic Highway of Legends
