La Veta, Colorado part-4We spotted these two large bucks as we neared La Veta
Deer and turkey were the things that set La Veta apart. We saw them everywhere. Does, fawns and yearlings were in nearly every yard in town while the bucks were on the edge of town as were the turkey.

While you can count 8-turkey in this picture there were more, in fact a lot more. They were moving, like turkey, do with some out in front with others dragging up the rear. We never could get a picture of all of them. The other thing that disappointed us was the angle of the sun. We were taking the picture into the sun which, as you know is not conducive to decent pictures, but we just had to share this one.

We saw a bunch of large bucks on the outskirts of La Veta. The town was full of doe and young. We probably saw 10 or more yards with deer in them while driving through this small town.
