Joyce took this picture of Mt Moran in the Teton Mountain Range from the Signal Mountain Boat Ramp on Jackson Lake in Grand Teton National Park.

Joyce took this picture of Mt Moran from the Jackson Lake Dam in Grand Teton National Park. We had been watching a mother bear and two cubs just before arriving at the dam. It was too dark to photograph bears in the bushes so we moved to the dam to catch the Teton Range in the setting sun across Jackson Lake. Mt Moran is one of the more prominent peaks in the Teton Range inside Grand Teton National Park.

Joyce took this picture from Willow Flats Overlook in Grand Teton National Park located less than a mile from Jackson Lake Lodge and about 6-miles from Colter Bay Village and Colter Bay Campground.

It is mid-June and there is a lot of wildlife in Willow Flats. There are several grizzly bear mom's with cubs and large herds of elk. We here that there are a pack of wolves operating in the area but we have not seen or heard any.

From Willow Flats Overlook you can spot large animals in the willows and flats that are not visible from other areas. Willow Flats Overlook is also a good place to take pictures of the Teton Range. Depending on how you set up your shot you can get good angles on Grand Teton peak as well as Mt Moran.

We were watching fishermen below Jackson Lake Dam when Joyce gook this picture of Mt Moran peaking above the dam.

The Snake River flows out of Yellowstone National Park through Flag Ranch then into the upper reaches of Jackson Lake where the Snake River becomes Jackson Lake for 25-miles. Then at Jackson Lake Dam the outflow the Snake River reappears to flow through Grand Teton National Park, through Jackson Hole and eventually around the southern tip of the Teton Mountain Range and into Idaho and on to join the mighty Columbia River in it's journey to the Pacific Ocean.

Joyce took this picture of Mt Moran and the Teton Range from the back side of Jackson Lake Lodge overlooking Willow Flats. She used a log fence piece to frame the bottom of the picture.

When you visit Grand Teton National Park you want to stop at Jackson Lake Lodge. There are a number of good reasons to stop at Jackson Lake Lodge among them are:

They have good cell phone service as well as free WiFi in the lobby. Jackson Lake Lodge is one of the great "lodges" of the American West.

The VIEW from the large picture windows in the lobby will take your breath away.

Jackson Lake Lodge also has dining facilities with sandwiches to salads in the Pioneer Grill then for the white table cloth crowd they have that available as well. Of course there is a well stocked bar with a view to die for and a wide variety of upscale gift shops available for those so inclined.

Jackson Lake Lodge also operates stables and rafting operations.

But you can just stop by and visit. The walk through the lobby and outside will be worth the time you take.
