There is still a lot of snow here in the southern Absaroka Mountains near Togwotee Pass between Dubois and Grand Teton National Park.

This beautiful exposure of sedimentary rock is atop Togwotee Pass in the southern Absaroka Mountains. To the south of US-26 we can see the northern reaches of the Wind River Range but this is looking to the north so these mountains are the Absaroka Mountains.

Togwotee Pass (pronounced toe-go-tee) tops out at 9658 feet.

It is located on the continental divide, between the towns of Dubois and Moran Junction, Wyoming.

We have transitioned from the Wind River Range to the Absaroka Mountains since we left Dubois. Union Pass is the line marking the northern terminus of the Wind River Range and Southern boundary of the Absaroka Mountains. Togwotee Pass goes across the same north/south trending mountains but the names of the mountain ranges change and Togwotee Pass crosses the Absaroka Mountains north of Union Pass.
