Sunset Key is a Luxury Resort Island west of Key West, that is operated by Westin Resorts in Key West.

Westin Resorts has a launch that transports guests between Key West and Sunset Key 24-hours a day.

Joyce took this picture from Mallory Square one afternoon in January.

And I suspect this is how and why Sunset Key was named.

Sunset Key is a Luxury Resort with "Guest Cottages" operated by Westin Resorts in Key West.

Joyce took this picture from Mallory Square in Old Town Key West one January afternoon.

Sunset Key, Key West Express and Wisteria Island

 

 

 

 

That is the Key West Express passing Wisteria Island and approaching Sunset Key as it leaves Key West on its daily run back to Ft Myers.

Wisteria Island and Sunset Key are islands created by dredge fill.

 

Sunset Key and the Sunset Key Launch returning to the Westin Marina in Key West

 

Westin Resorts operates the Sunset Key Launch between its marina in Old Town Key West and their Luxury Resort on Sunset Key.

You can see some of the "Guest Cottages" offered by Westin Resorts on Sunset Key in this picture.

I suspect this picture explains where Sunset Key got its name.

Joyce got this unique picture of the Key West Express heading into Key West with a load of passengers from Ft Myers.

That is Sunset Key a Luxury Resort operated by Westin Resorts in the distance and the cruise ship Carnival Conquest tied up at the cruise ship dock in Key West.

We were standing in Mallory Square when Joyce took this picture.
