Monument Lake Resort on SR-12 the Scenic Highway of Legends between Stonewall and Cuchara Pass

From the list of things on this sign Monument Lake Resort has a laundry list of facilities including a campground for RV's.

Since I pointed out the campground at Monument Lake Resort it might be time to discuss other camping options for this area: Lanthrop State Park a few miles west of I-25 in Walsenburg, or one of two RV-Parks in La Veta, west of Trinidad in Stonewall where there are several RV-Parks, or this campground at Monument Lake Resort.

It is our understanding that the CCC constructed this entrance and other infrastructure at Monument Lake.

I am not sure if this was a cabin or one of the facilities for the campground.

We love the Spanish influence on this architecture. It is fitting for this area since it has a strong Spanish heritage.

Monument Lake is a beautiful mountain lake owned by the city of Trinidad, that maintains it for their water supply. Trinidad is located some 35-plus miles away along I-25.
