Jackson, WyomingAug 7-17, 2007. While in the Tetons we stayed at two of the National Park Campgrounds: Colter Bay and Gros Ventre. Both are dry camping sites and are rarely full. Both are $17 per-night to "dry camp" with central water and dump site of course if you have the "geezer-pass" the rate will be half that. There are several hundred sites in each of the campgrounds. We spent most of our time in Gros Ventre because it is located only 10-miles from Jackson and we love Jackson and all it has to offer.

Camping Club
Antler arches have been gates to the Jackson Town Square since 1960. Antlers on these arches are from elk that winter on the National Elk Refuge. About 7,500 elk spend each winter on the refuge. The bulls shed their antlers each spring. Antlers are picked up by local Boy Scouts and sold by public auction in the Jackson Square each May. All four arches were built by the Jackson Hole Rotary Club.
This is just one of the 4-arches that anchor each corner of Jackson Square.

Silver Dollar Bar in Jackson, Wyoming
The Liberty Silver Dollar is considered by many to be the most beautiful U.S. Coin ever minted. The "Liberty Dollar" was designed by George T. Morgan and minted from 1878 to 1921. When the Wort brothers built a new hotel bar in 1950 they had 2,032 uncirculated 1921 silver dollars imbedded in the bar top.
And by now you understand why this is called the "Silver Dollar Bar". By the way, this is only a small section of that impressive bar.
