Cuchara is located along the Highway of Legends in south central Colorado. Cuchara is situated at an elevation of 8,468' thus it has cool temperatures when it is blistering hot at lower elevations. Note the large Ponderosa Pines in this picture.

When we passed by this property yesterday a realtor was out front and ready to show it to a prospect that had not yet arrived.

This is one of the more densely populate areas of Cuchara. Most residences are spread out on much more property.

Ranching/and growing hay is still part of the community of Cuchara

While the community of Cuchara appears to be changing character from an old ranching and hay producing area to an upscale community of retirees and second homes vestige's of the old days are still visible.

We saw some impressive table tops and bar tops made from a huge Ponderosa Pine like this one when we had lunch in the Dog Bar & Grill in Cuchara Village. If you get a chance stop by the Dog Bar & Grill to see the unique and impressive furniture made from a huge Ponderosa Pine such as this one.
