Stage
May 15 through 18, 2008
We are staying at Poole Knobs COE Campground near Smyrna, TN.: $9 a night with elect & water (we have the National Park systems 1/2 price geezer pass) so if you aren't 62 years old or disabled yet it will cost you $18. Smyrna and Poole Knobs COE Campground, is about 20-miles SE of downtown Nashville. We are on site # 41 and it is a beautiful site but there are many wonderful sites. If you can not find a COE campground like Poole Knobs in Smyrna you need to look for a 1/2 Price PPA Campground.
The Stage on Broadway A Premier Nashville Honky Tonk
From the Wild Horse we headed up Broadway to honky tonk row. It did not take long for us to settled into "The Stage on Broadway" which was featuring a good band - The Exit 69 Band - that was playing our kind of music.
This is Tim Baumgartner a great lead guitar & vocals musician that plays with a variety of groups including Melissa Paige. Today we found him playing lead guitar with Melissa at The Stage on Broadway. Get more info on Tim and where he will be playing at: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=155419334
Melissa Paige at the Stage on Broadway one of the best honky tonks on Broadway
Melissa Paige, was the lead singer at this Nashville honky tonk. This was one talented lady, that had a Martina Mcbride look. If you are interested in her music you can find out more at www.myspace.com/melissapaigemusic. If you like modern country music you will like this girl. She should be cutting records.

Sign in the Stage On Broadway
I got a kick out of this sign. I tried my best to get Joyce to stand under it so I could take her picture. I used to be able to pull stunts like that off but she has gotten smarter. Now when I mention anything about taking her picture she starts looking around which is exactly what she did when I tried to pose her in front of this sign. Whatever, I thought this was a funny sign. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
The Stage on Broadway is one of our favorite honky tonks
This is a picture of The Stage on Broadway, a famous Nashville Honky Tonk, taken from across Broadway Street. As you can tell it has gotten dark on us since we arrived, you might say it got dark a looooooong time ago. VBG
Frank Light was performing in several of the honky tonks on Broadway
Frank Light was performing in several of the vinues and was a great talent. He was putting together a band to go on tour. If you get a chance you want to watch his show. I can not remember if we watched his show in The Stage on Broadway or not.
Saturday turned out to be another "home run", what could be better than a day & night "honky tonkin" with your best friend? Thankfully, for me, my best friend also happens to be da boss. VBG
That pretty much summs up this honky tonkin experience on Braodway in Nashville. Click here for more of our Tennessee Travel Adventures
