Free Chevy Stage at CMA Music Festival
June 4, 2008. We normally look for 1/2 price PPA Campgrounds COE Campgrounds or National Park Campgrounds. But in Nashville, over the Memorial Day weekend Two Rivers Campground is our choice. After the parade action started on the Free Chevy Stage and continued until 8pm. Hours and hours of free music was presented on the Chevy Stage every day of the CMA Music Fest. After the parade Keith Anderson, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, James Otto, Joe Nichols, Rissi Palmer, Phil Stacey and Chris Young performed. How is that for a free concert!

This is Michael Peterson performing Saturday afternoon on the Free Chevy Stage. It was hot, as in almost 100 degrees outside, and that thinned the crowds but there were a few diehards enjoying his music.
I addition to performingh his hit song "Drink, Swear, Steal & Lie" Michael Peterson told a joke I remember: Why do couples get married in the morning? If it doesn't work out they haven't wasted the entire day. Guess who didn't think it was funny? VBG

Joyce posed for a picture before we headed to the Convention Center and air conditioning. Besides Mary Kay was sponsoring an acoustic stage with chairs on the second floor of the Convention Center which was an air-conditioned venue.

This artist is Joe Nichols performing at the Free Chevy Stage. I think Joe is the artist/songwriter that sang the hit "Tequila makes her clothes fall off", correct me if I am wrong.

This is Michael Martin Murphy. I think they are best known for a song called "On a pony called Wildfire".
They also might be the ones that coined the phrase; "Life is tough, it is tougher if you are stupid!"

There is nothing like spending time with my best friend -- it sure makes life worth living. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world.
We headed home early tonight, as in 8pm in the hopes of getting enough rest tonight so that we can make it through the entire day/night tomorrow. Performers will begin their concerts in the morning at 10am and continue on multiple stages until midnight tomorrow night. At any one time there are probably in excess of 5-Country Stars performing on various stages. You have to pick and choose which ones you want to hear and move to that venue. They are all good, you just have to decide which one you really want to see.
Having fun at CMA isn't the only thing to do in Nashville.
