Schwabacher Landing is located on an old oxbow of the Snake River just north of Antelope Flats and Moose Junction in Grand Teton National Park.

Schwabacher Landing Road is well marked from the main highway running through Grand Teton National Park so it is easy to find.

We find that the views and vegetation at Schwabacher Landing are different than we get at other locations in Grand Teton National Park so we make it a point to visit Schwabacher Landing several times when we are in the Tetons.

Schwabacher Landing is on an oxbow of the Snake River and provides a good place to launch a canoe for a leisurely paddle away from the swift and dangerous Snake River.

The Teton Mountain Range can be seen in the background.

This view from Schwabacher Landing is up toward the main highway running north & south through Grand Teton National Park.

Between where we are at Schwabacher Landing and the highway you can see several benches. They are the result of heavy water flow in the Snake River millions of years ago when the glaciers were melting.

We always like to stroll down the Schwabacher Landing trail that leads to Beaver Pond. Beaver pond is a favorite site for painters and photographers because of the reflections cast on Beaver pond.

I can say that the best reflections of the Grand Teton Maintain Range would be in the early morning when the sun is reflecting off Grand Teton Mountain into the mirror surface of Beaver pond.

It is sad to say but we ain't going to be here early to see that sight so we have to settle for just mediocre views in the middle of the day. VBG

Joyce is beginning to recognize all the different flowers we see blooming in Grand Teton National Park.

When walking the trail from Schwabacher Landing to Beaver Pond there is a wide variety of plant communities that are encountered.

I do notice that there is sage brush and willows in this picture other than the variety of blooming plants.

We can only imagine the beautiful reflections of the Teton Range that must be in Beaver Pond in the early morning. It is early afternoon and Engelmann Spruce are reflecting in the pond.

Mike was intrigued with the color of the fungus on several Engelmann Spruce trees at Schwabacher Landing.

It was a brilliant golden orange. I must say this picture does not do the colors actually present any justice.

The sun is washing out the color in these showy fleabane. The petals are purple or lavender but it is delicate and the bright afternoon sun is washing out that lavender color.
