Southernmost Beach Key WestWelcome to the Southernmost Beach in the Continental USA
The Southernmost Beach is located at 1405 Duval Street in Key West. Forget the address just get on Duval Street and head south. When you get to the Atlantic Ocean you have arrived at the Southernmost Beach. I notice they do not allow dogs, alcohol or moonshine on the beach by city ordinance. This picture is looking east at the Southernmost Beach with the Southernmost Beach Cafe & Bar on the left and the Southernmost On The Beach Hotel in the background. It is late in the afternoon and most folks have abandoned the beach for this day, leaving only the white sand and coconut palms.

This was a chilly day in January (probably in the mid-60's). I know it must have been in January because I didn't put on jeans in February. That is the Southernmost Beach in back of us with the Southernmost On The Beach Hotel in the background. The Southernmost Beach Cafe & Bar is to just out of the picture on the left side. It is almost time for the sun to set and the sun worshipers have headed to a place where they can watch the famed Key West sunset and join in on that celebration so the Southernmost Beach is almost deserted. However, the Southernmost Beach Cafe & Bar, to the left, is doing a brisk business. That is the Southernmost On The Beach Hotel in the background.

Most of our pictures of the Southernmost beach have been from the west side looking east. Joyce took this picture from the Southernmost On The Beach Hotel looking west. While this is the Southernmost Beach the picture also shows the Southernmost Beach Cafe & Bar. Most of the other pictures of the Southernmost Beach and the Southernmost beach Cafe & Bar were taken from a spot near the shore on the left side of this picture. Of course we were looking in this direction when those pictures were taken. It is going to be hard to see but if you locate the furled, white beach umbrellas you can see a house behind them ---- that house is the Southernmost House in the Continental US.
