Everglades National Park Shark Valley Tram Tour This travellog covers a day in South Florida, enjoying the Shark Valley Tram tour in Everglades National Park. We dry camped at the Miccosukee Indian Casino last night then headed out to Shark Valley in Everglades National Park this morning where we got on the 2-hour narrated tram tour. Alligator sunning along the Shark Valley Tram Tour in Everglades National Park
We are visiting Shark Valley in the Florida Everglades. Shark Valley is part of Everglades National Park. You can walk or ride a bicycle (they rent bicycles) along the trail or you can opt for the 2-hour narrated tram tour. The tram tour is the option we chose. Others were walking the 7-miles out to the viewing tower and 7-miles back. Other were riding bicycles. Some were riding rental bikes while others brought their personal bikes with them. Everyone was having a good time. Getting up close and personal with these creatures is a sure thing on the trail out to the viewing tower. Of course we were on the Shark Valley Tram Tour, but you can up close and personal on a walk or a bicycle. Alligator on the Shark Valley Tram Tour trail route in Everglades National Park
This bad boy was sprawled across the paved path and did not want to move. The Shark Valley Tram Tour operator had to almost run over him to get him to move. As you can see by the shadows in this picture we could reach out and touch this large alligator as we passed by.

This big boy at least got off to one side of the trail so we could just ease by in the Shark Valley Tram. Large alligator on the trail for the Everglades National Park Shark Valley Tram Tour
This is another of those obstinate critters that just didn't want to move off the warm pavement. Walkers and bike riders were passing by like we did in the Shark Valley Tram. I can tell you I would not want to be walking or on my bicycle anywhere near this creature. Close-up of a great blue heron in Shark Valley Everglades National Park, Florida
This great blue heron was so close even Joyce couldn't help but get a good close up. VBG
