Story, Wyoming part-2We loved this sign -- which way is Prairie Dog Road? Which way is Creek Road? Are they the same Road?
Actually, it may have been Prairie Dog Creek Road. It could have been but our GPS was showing an Upper Prairie Dog Road and a Jim Creek Road in this area. We were out sight seeing east of Sheridan, Wyoming on some scenic ranch roads (mostly gravel) but had finished that part of our day and were headed to Story, Wyoming which is on the WEST side of I-12 that runs north & south through here. Thankfully, the GPS was taking us to Story, Wyoming no matter what the signs were telling us. We were headed west when we came to a "T" in the road we were on when we saw this sign. Upper Prairie Dog Road was an east west trending road per our GPS. Jim Creek Road (no Creek Road) was a north-south trending road -- no mention of a Creek Road per our GPS. This is one of those moments that you just throw up your hands and give -- then scratch your head and head in one direction or the other. :-)
We were looking for WY-194 that would be our turn to Story, Wyoming
We were headed north on WY-193 when we saw this sign so we knew our turn onto WY-194 was just 1/2 mile away. However, right after seeing this sign a sign for a Scenic Area appeared and we turned into the pull-off to check it out.
We loved this sign as much as any we have seen -- who put up that NOT SO Scenic Area sign?
The Not So Scenic Area sign looks so official. It really does, but it is a joke, a good joke, but nonetheless a joke. I am still laughing about how cool that is. Someone has a great sense of humor. :-)
Small buck outside the Story, Wyoming Lions Club building
We actually spotted this buck and another one leisurely grazing in front of the Story, Wyoming Lions Club Building. Before we could get the window down for Joyce to take this picture they had both jumped that fence and one of them had moved far enough away from the sign that Joyce was not able to bet both bucks in the shot with the Lions Club sign. During our drive around Story, Wyoming we saw wildlife, both deer and wild turkey making themselves at home in both neighborhoods and the downtown business district.
Neighborhood landscapes throughout Story, Wyoming seemed to share a love even respect for nature
Joyce saw these yellow flowers near the overlook about 1/2 mile north of Story, Wyoming
