I love the color combinations in the different layers of sedimentary rocks in this river cut. Mudstones, shales limestone and sandstone make up this wonderful geology deposited here between 60-million years ago to 120-million years ago. Yea, that is 60-million years but you are seeing a lot of geology in that cut.

The vibrant color combinations in the scenery south of Dubois, Wyoming on US-26 just can't be beat.

While you have no way of knowing it the Wind River is flowing along that exposure. You can see the tops of cottonwood trees that are probably lining the river.
