This is forest service road 3 to Hazelton in the Big Horn Mountains. We saw a sign at the entrance to the road that said drive at your own risk. The drive was on indicating hills for about the first 3 miles and a little rough. We took the drive in mid August so we found the road conditions to be satisfactory.

We kept wondering when we were going to arrive in Hazelton. Well we drove through an area that had a few ranch houses and a few were being built. We think that was Hazelton. We never saw any signs indicating we had arrived in Hazelton.

Flowers along Hazelton Road high in the Big Horn Mountains south of US-16 & west of Buffalo, WY
The Wyoming Wildflowers are always so beautiful. It just wouldn't be a scenic drive or hike without the wildflowers.
Log trucks racing down Hazelton Road in the Big Horn Mountains headed toward US-16
We saw a number of these log trucks on forest service road 3. These trucks were making there way back to highway US-16. As you can see the dust from the gravel road was flying. We were parked along the roadside having our lunch. When we finished our lunch and were making our way back to main road we caught up with them as they had slowed down on the undulating hills.
