We were out sightseeing east of Sheridan, Wyoming today. This old grain elevator is the only one we saw today. It may be left over from days when they grew wheat in this area. Ranchers seem to concentrate on producing alfalfa these days. That is a huge alfalfa field you see on the other side of the RR tracks.

Ranches are storing hay for shipment or for their own use this winter.

This old tree with several feet of its root system exposed caught our eye. This is a big tree out on the prairie east of the Big Horn Mountains so it has withstood the test of time.

It's views like this one on our scenic drive that are so peaceful. If you are in Sheridan, Wyoming then by all means get out and enjoy the beauty of the countryside as you drive along the ranch roads.

Joyce and I really got a charge out of this sign. It is hard for you to read but the sign on the top of that pole is on a "mailbox" -- the sign reads Air Mail. You have to love the ingenuity and humor displayed. We loved it so much we are sharing it.

The sign on that tire is equally funny but I will tell you about it in the next picture.

I would dearly love to sit down with these folks and hear the story behind this humor.

Great humor on a "Scenic pullout" sign south of Sheridan near Story, Wyoming

Check out the sign below the "Scenic Area" sign. It looks so official. It was located about 5-miles from the Air Mail and Polish Reservation art. Something tells me that the same individual or group of individuals are responsible for all of this humor. Whoever it is I would like to meet them, they are my kind of people.
