Tarpon Springs, Mama's Greek Restaurant, Sponge DockJanuary 19th This travellog covers the few hours we stopped in Tarpon Springs on our way south. The Greek food is totally awesome and something that we just could not pass up. We located a K-Mart parking lot with plenty of space for our motorhome not far from Tarpon Springs where we dropped the motorhome and took the Saturn into Tarpon Springs. We located Mama's Greek Restaurant when we visited Tarpon Springs last winter. They have really great Greek food and we decided at that time that anytime we were near Tarpon Springs we were going to make time to savor some of the cuisine in Mama's Greek Restaurant. We love Mama's Greek Restaurant, but there are many more Greek restaurants to choose from, I bet they are all good. One thing you can count on ----- they are owned and operated by Greeks actually speaking Greek. You would not know it but Mama's Greek Restaurant in Tarpon Springs is our all time favorite Greek restaurant.

For those of you that are not familiar with Tarpon Springs it is a Greek community. It really is. The community was built around the sponge industry that still thrives in the small town.
