Gaylord Center Nashville, Tennessee
May 22, 2008 We were staying at Poole Knobs COE Campground near Smyrna, TN.: $9 a night with elect & water (we have the National Park systems 1/2 price geezer pass) so if you aren't 62 years old or disabled yet it will cost you $18. Smyrna and Poole Knobs COE Campground, is about 20-miles SE of downtown Nashville. We are on site # 41 and it is a beautiful site but there are many wonderful sites. On May 23, 2008 we moved to Two Rivers Campground near Opry Land in northeast Nashville. There is no way we want to be in that COE campground over Memorial Day weekend. Two Rivers is the private campground we recommend for anyone visiting Nashville. It ain't cheap but it is as inexpensive as anything available. If there was a convenient 1/2 price PPA campground that is where we would be.
Friday was the day we had to move the motorhome from the COE campground into Nashville and Two Rivers Campground near the Grand Old Opry. After getting moved we decided to just stick around the area instead of heading back downtown.
Joyce in the Gaylord Opry Land Resort & Hotel
We ended up visiting the Gaylord Opry Land Resort & Hotel next to the Grand Old Opry. The Gaylord complex is something that qualifies as magnificent, at least in my book it does. When we visit Nashville one of the things we consider a must is to stroll through the atrium that contains 9-acres of indoor gardens, cascading waterfalls, and an indoor river complete with fish and tour boats. Interspersed with the lush landscape in this atrium is fine dining as well as casual restaurants and some unique shopping opportunities.

Architecture, vegetation, fountains all contained indoors. The Gaylord complex is truly a beautiful place.
Grand Old Opry
After touring the Gaylord Convention Center & Hotel we walked down to the Grand Old Opry. It is late afternoon and the crowds are thin.
