Places Visited: Our family went to my sister's house in Calera, Alabama (20-miles south of Birmingham) to celebrate Thanksgiving. My mother and all of my brothers and sisters and their spouses and children were there. My sister and her husband are making this a Thanksgiving tradition. They have a huge house on several hundred acres of land. They have room for all of us to sleep so we make a few days of it. In addition to the Thanksgiving feast we stopped by the Train Museum in Calera on Friday after Thanksgiving. It is actually the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum plus the Calera & Shelby Railroad. We took a 45-minute ride on the Calera & Shelby Railroad that was fun and entertaining. If you are in the Birmingham area this is a good place to visit. They have many old engines and RR cars on display, many of which you can enter and walk around in. They also have a small steam engine and train was once used in the Birmingham or Atlanta Zoo ( I can't remember which). We didn't ride on that train but it was fun for those who did.
